At Interlochen Center for the Arts, he led a team of seven technicians and coordinated with boards, donors, contractors, and 300+ musicians—learning firsthand what breaks in arts organizations.

ArtsMetrics systematizes what he learned: gathering, validating, maintaining, and using reliable information to strengthen governance and build platforms that actually work.

Our Mission

ArtsMetrics is an independent research and technology collaborative serving nonprofit arts and music education organizations. We provide data-driven governance intelligence, compliance frameworks, and modern web infrastructure—so that mission-driven organizations can meet the operational and regulatory demands of running a nonprofit without diverting resources from their artistic and educational purpose.

Our Vision

A future in which every mission-driven arts and music education organization operates with the same clarity, accountability, and technical capability as institutions many times its size—where sound governance and reliable data are not a privilege of scale, but a baseline every organization, however small its staff or budget, can reach.

The Problem I Recognized

At Interlochen Center for the Arts, I managed a $8.2M keyboard inventory across two campuses—420 pianos in the Arts Academy, another 240 in the Summer Festival. But the real challenge wasn't the pianos. It was the information.

Contact data was scattered. Maintenance records were inconsistent. Donor relationships were tracked in three different places. Staff knowledge lived in email and memory. Board decisions happened with incomplete information because nobody had a clear picture of reality.

Meanwhile, I was also managing relationships with boards, donors, contractors, parents of students, and faculty. I saw firsthand how bad data breaks governance. How gaps in information create risk. How organizations end up making decisions based on guesses instead of evidence.

I'd built systems for corporations. Now I needed to build something for the organizations I cared about.

What This Means For You

I Understand Your Challenges

Not because I read about them. Because I've managed them. Data silos, outdated governance structures, websites that don't reflect actual work. I know what breaks.

I Can Build Real Solutions

I have deep technical chops—not just consulting speak. I've architected data systems at scale, managed databases, designed integrations. I can actually deliver.

I Know Your Values

I've been in arts organizations. I understand mission, pedagogy, artistic integrity. I don't just see you as a client. I see the work you do and why it matters.
